My finds

I have slim camo pants, but these straight fit cropped camo pants caught my eye.  I'm liking the different silhouette, but I would add my own belt.  It's so easy to dress these up a bit, just add heels, a blazer, and a button down.  If you want to go casual, I love them with a graphic tee and a half-zipped hoodie under a blazer (yes, lately I'm loving a hoodie under a blazer) and cute kicks.

If you love monograms or anything you can customize, you will want to check out Ralph Lauren's custom crewneck sweater. Keep in mind that it takes four weeks to receive, but I think it's worth it. Below are a few examples.  You can customize the front, back, colors, and the sleeves.  The sweater will set you back $198 bucks, but it's yours and yours alone.

The one dress I think every woman should have is the slip dress.  Why? Well, Ease and versatility. I used to avoid them because I'm bigger on top and age hasn't been kind either, so I need to wear a bra and most slip dresses have spaghetti straps, which I avoid. Recently, when searching Vince's sale, I saw this version below with thick straps. Vince has a few versions on sale because I guess people don't typically don't wear them now, but I do.  I love the look of a chunky cardigan, a J. crew tissue turtleneck (they are the best), combat/moto boots, and this dress.  You can also throw a chunky sweater over it so that it looks like a skirt.  See, what I mean about versatility?   Obviously, it works in the summer too.  What's better than a throw and go dress that you can pair with great earrings, slides, and an easy bun or ponytail?  I ordered it in a small and it's slightly longer than in the picture on me.

I'm totally obsessed with Meghan Markle.  Anybody with me? I have to admit that she wasn't on my radar before she started to date Harry, so I've been following all the latest news about her and doing a bit of Googling.  The one bit of info that I hadn't seen or heard about was her former husband.  Well, here's a photo of them.  His name is Trevor Engelson and you can read more about him here.

Yes, it's official, Meghan is officially a style influencer, "The Markle Effect" is in full swing.  The winter white engagement announcement coat called the Mara Wrap Coat (now renamed the "Meghan" by Canadian designer Line the Label that retails for $627 quickly sold out, and now the Strathberry Tricolor Midi Tote has sold out as well. The burgundy leather tote accented by a blue inner fold and white handles that's held in place by a gold crossbar sold out in 11 minutes according to the Scottish brand. The bag will set you back approximately $625.  If you want to get your paws on it, the label says it will restock it after the new year.

A fun fact about the bag, Meghan may have broken royal etiquette by carrying a handbag rather than a clutch as is customary for Royals.  Royals carry clutches or a small bags that they carry with both hands so that they can politely avoid shaking hands with certain people. In my opinion, she gets a pass because she hasn't received all the protocol training that's required yet.  According to etiquette expert William Hanson, "It is protocol that you do not extend your hand to any member of the royal family (blood royal or those who have married into the family) unless their hand extends first."

I wasn't very familiar with the label until now.  You may not be familiar either, so here are a few shots of bags in their line:

The MC Nano for $310 comes in 10 colors pictured here in Blossom Yellow (restocking soon) and Ruby.

The $545 East/West Mini is available in six colors.  It's pictured here in Slate and the Tricolor (sold out but it's my favorite color combo.  It's same color combo that Meghan has, which is why I beleive it's unavialable).

The $355 Pico Tote is available in six colors.  It's pictured in Water and Earth.

The $625 Midi Tote is available in 20 colors/textures.  It's pictured here in Navy (restocking soon) and Taupe -  this is the bag that Meghan is carrying.

You can find the bags at Saks or here.
