Memorial Day sales - what I bought

Figures that I would go to Sea NY for their Memorial Day sale and leave with something that was a new arrival and not part of their sale. You can find the dress I bought here. The sales girl was wearing it and it looked so good on her. Yes, I’m easily influenced. It’s a combo of classic with a twist of cool details — the buttons up the back and the puff sleeves. There were a few options on sale that I really liked, but I thought this dress was the most classic, versatile (I could wear this with a turtleneck and boots in the fall), and flattering. Plus, I love a puff sleeve. It also comes in a print pictured below, but it’s made in a different fabric. It’s on my wish list. The icing on the cake, they gave me a canvas bag with my purchase. It’s the little things that make me a loyal customer.

Here’s what I bought during J. Crew’s 40 percent off sale:

My friend Jenn is a stylist at J. Crew and she told me to pair the embroidered tee with the eyelet skirt because it looks like a dress. They had the mannequin in the window wearing the set and it does look like they were made to be worn together. I love sets because of the versatility. I would have never bought the tee, so thanks Jenn. She also recommended I get the Reed cable knit cotton sweater. Another item that I liked but wasn’t sure about but she had it in her wardrobe and said it’s perfect for a cool night or — in my case — a chilly office. The turtleneck is more of a mockneck if you were concerned. Sold. I’ve already worn it. The cropped striped sweater was a no brainer for me. It’s a classic and striped. I’ll have it forever and it will get a lot of use. It’s perfect. Again, another one to bring with me to combat the chilly air conditioner. I fell for the eyelet blazer immediately when i saw it. It’s great for work and the weekends, which is something I look for when i’m shopping. I imagined it with a white tee, jeans or a circle skirt, and sneakers. So easy. Finally, the skirt, which has pockets and a gold zipper up the back that some may not like, but I like it because it makes the skirt a little less sweet. I’m a big fan of the Abnormal skin care line because I don’t want to pay a lot for the packaging and marketing, but I do want a product that works. Well, now they a little competition from the folks behind Who What Wear. It seems to be aimed at millennials but what isn’t these days. So, if you’re not in that age group, it’s still okay because like Glossier they have something for everyone. You can take a quiz to decide on a regime that fits your lifestyle. You can find out more about the line that’s sold at Target here. They post reviews on their site, which I always love.

Thanks for visiting.

If you bought anything you love and recommend, I’d love to know.
