What to read, buy and wishlist

Retail therapy is real.   A study published in the journal Psychology and Marketing has shown shopping can improve a bad mood, not just temporarily but over the long term, concluding that "retail therapy has lasting positive impacts on mood."Read more about it here

I don't know anyone that doesn't get a case of the Sunday scaries. Maybe this article will help.

My latest wish list item is Madewell's shearling Heidi mule. I've seen a ton of fur mules and slides, but these are the most lux version I've seen.

If you're a candle lover, you're already familiar with www.diptyqueparis.com candles, which are the favorite pick of many a blogger, celebrity and high-end store. Beginning in September, the brand is releasing Un Air De Diptyque, the first-ever luxury car diffuser.  You know Lisa Van der Pump will have this clipped to the vent of her Bentley and she'll have back ups in her glove box.  It clips on to a car's air vent and a cold diffusion system releases fragrance through perfume-concentrated beads. It will be offered in six of Diptyque's signature scents: ambre, baies, figuier, roses, fleur, d'oranger, gingembre, and 34.  They smell heavenly. In my opinion you can easily smell the difference between Diptyque and lower priced candles that typically smell artificial.  Diffusers cost $60 and stay fragrant for approximately three months. They can be purchased at  www.diptyqueparis.com starting next month.

Get your Instagram ready because Too Faced Cosmetics is launching a  new glittery face mask. Too Faced Cosmetic's co-founder and chief creative officer Jerrod Blandino Instagrammed a sneak peek video of woman applying a peel-off glitter face mask that included the following hashtags: #WeLiveInGlitter#GlitterMakesYouPretty#youveneverseenanythinglikethis ✨#toofaced"

The glitter face mask will be the brands first skincare product. It also seems to be the first mass market glitter mask.

Keep an eye on Blandino's future Instagram posts or check Too Faced's website for an official name and release date.

Ever wonder if you should buy an item online or in store?  This article points you in the right direction.

After two years of research, Everlane, known for their affordable and ethically made basics, will be launching their first-ever collection of denim, for $68 a pair on September 7.  According to Vogue, the line is made with 2 percent stretch Japanese denim, and is produced at Saitex factory in Vietnam. The factory recycles 98% of water back into production, which means it has almost zero percent impact on the environment. Buying jeans that make you feel good about the money you spent and make your butt look good is a rare combo. The brand is launching with five silhouettes for men and women, in black, white, light rinse, and classic denim blue washes.  I have a feeling, with a little time, a wide leg offering may be available. Everlane's founder, Michael Pressman, says,

“We’re going to keep it pretty minimalist…What we’re not going to do is distress, rip, and repair in big ways, but I think adding a couple of key fashion silhouettes and a few more washes is what you’re going to see from us. That will happen over time.”
