This week's fab finds

I’ve been looking to buy a pair of jeans that’s not Madewell. I can’t wear jeans to work, so I typically don’t spend a ton on denim. I’ve bought a few pairs from Everlane, which I’ve written about in previous blog posts. I was eyeing the Agolde brand during a recent Shopbop sale because they are not as expensive as other designer jeans, and I read a lot of positive reviews. I was too afraid to get them without trying them on because the reviews in terms of sizing were all over the place. I also considered buying a pair of Levis. I’ve also read great things about the Wedgie Straight and the Icon Wedgie jean, but I didn’t pull the trigger on these either.

I got out of work early on Friday, and I had that shopping itch, so I went to Bloomingdales because it was on my way home, but I’m not a huge fan. It’s always too crazy and they don’t have a large selection. Anyway, I digress. I tried on a few pairs of Agolde and Levis jeans. I knew I didn’t want rips or a lot of whiskering or fading, and I wanted a straight leg. I ended up going with the Levis wedgie straight. I liked the rear view more than the others, and I felt they looked almost the same as all the Agolde for a bit less money.

I was psyched to find that Bloomngdales had a Levis Tailor Shop where you could change the color of the buttons and get embroidery in many different fonts and in tons of colors. You can see what I chose below. Cute, no?

My sister and I are complete opposites, so I would have never expected her to give me a recommendation that was life changing. I hated my underwear. I couldn’t find a pair that was comfortable, didn’t give me a wedgie and didn’t show my panty lines. She recommended Soma Vanishing Edge and they are AMAZING. They checked every box - comfortable, no wedgies and no VPL. Seriously, they are magic. They are undetectable and come in many styles and colors. I will never wear another brand.

I had this blouse in my cart for ages. I didn’t buy it because I wanted to see it in person or at the very least read a review. I don’t buy a ton at HM but I learned quickly from the limited number of purchases that the quality can make some of their items look cheap in person, so I like to see if they have it in store. I want to see and feel the item. If it’s not cotton, I tend not to buy it. I checked the store and they didn’t have it. I went to the store and they didn’t have it, but I was lucky enough that one of the bloggers I follow bought it and featured it, so I bought it. It came today and it’s so good. It looks like it comes from Rebecca Taylor. I highly recommend it.
