Knits and news

Anyone who knows me well knows I'm a huge Jenna Lyons fan, so I was really excited that while reading my daily blogs, I saw that one of them had noted that Jenna's new apartment was profiled in T Magazine.  I'm an avid reader of the publication, but my life has been crazy lately and I'm trying to catch up, so thanks, Heather Clawson.

If you're a fan of home decor or Jenna, you'll recall Jenna's Brooklyn townhouse was featured in Domino magazine and featured the most-pinned interiors on all of Pinterest.  Well, her new place is equally fabulous and very much like my style icon.  It's glamorous yet somehow unfussy and casually cool. Read the article here for all the design details and make sure to watch the video tour.  I love the leopard-print poufs and the Hermes jungle-printed cotton toile panels.  J Crew fans will recognize her Drake's outfit.  As for still shots of her new Soho digs, I've pasted some of Simon Watson's photos below.

It's a good week for Jenna fans because Jenna is featured in Glossier's holiday campaign.  She's wearing the brand's wears Generation G lipstick in Zip + Lip Gloss in  Glossier's photos below.

If you're feeling as poor as I am this holiday season, here are a few knits and a pair of kicks that won't break the bank.  Check out the slideshow for my picks.  My favorite is the pink knit.

1. Pink knit

2. Light blue knit

3.  Lace up knit

4. Turtleneck sweater

5. Red knit

6. leopard faux fur lined sneakers

While Jenna Lyons is my spirit animal, Jen Atkin is one of my favorite girl bosses.  I swear by her hair oil, her pomade and her shampoos and conditioners are really good too. Her Ouai line not only works but the products smell damn good. So good in fact, her customer base kept asking for her to make fragrances.  Well, their wish just came true because her new limited edition set, which includes 3 rollerballs for $42, is available on TheOuai.com

The scents are named after some of the streets in Jen's favorite cities New York, Paris and Cali and are called Mercer Street, Rue St. Honore and Melrose Place.  The scents are inspired by Le Labo, Byredo and Diptyque, and the packaging is inspired by classic Chanel.  Who doesn't want something that is inspired by Chanel on their dresser myself included? So, yes, the trio is currently on their way to my apartment.

What does the trio sell like you may be asking?  Rue St. Honore has notes of gardenia, violet and white musk, Mercer Street has notes of Turkish rose, lily and lemon, and Melrose Place has notes of rose, lychee and cedar wood.

If you love glitter, Miley Cyrus and Converse sneakers, then prepare to lose your mind.  She just posted teasers on her Instagram of her upcoming Chuck Taylor All Star collaboration with Converse. Each pair displays her initials on the back and a charm on the laces. According to Hypebae.com there is no confirmed launch date.  I have to say that I'm kinda digging the pink glitter soles and glitter laces.
