What's Chic This Week
My first fall buy was a pair of dark indigo denim jeans called “The Hang.” They are straight-leg jeans with a mid-rise waist, offering a comfortable fit around the hips and thighs. They look neat and relaxed without being baggy. I liked that I didn’t need to shorten them. I chose my larger jean size because the smaller one sat too high on my waist. The sales assistant told me to size up for the right fit.
I also managed to score these Toteme flats during a major sale ($640 vs. $192 and shipping before taxes) on Elyse Walker’s website, which is a well-known based in Los Angeles that recently opened a location on Madison Avenue. Although I can’t provide a direct link here, I definitely recommend checking out the site to see if your size is still available. I have a personal connection with the family, having grown up with Elyse’s brother, and we used to visit her mom’s store back in my hometown. Because of that, I was especially happy and excited to make a purchase from her. I am a 7.5 in most shoes but a 38 Toteme.
I always prioritize comfort, but I also want to look effortlessly chic, and these pants are absolute perfection for that. I bought these black pajama-style trousers made from soft silk-twill fabric, featuring bone embroidery. There’s a matching shirt available, but I found it a bit too busy and overwhelming for my taste. Instead, I plan to pair the pants with a simple black tee and throw on either a tailored blazer or a chunky cotton sweater as the weather cools down in early fall. One of the best things is that when I wear them with a small kitten heel, I don’t have to worry about hemming them at all. They come in a variety of colors, but I especially love the green option. I also appreciate that the logo is part of the design.
Here’s a less expensive and highly versatile alternative to the pants above available in green, black, navy and brown.
This is a fabulous transition piece. I love it worn classically over a tee, with jeans and ballet flats. Updated this season to be even softer in 50 percent cashmere, 50 percent merino wool. It’s an alternative to a light jacket. It’s available in a ton of colors.
This is a great layering piece and works with the cardigan below, but I like it under a blazer. This fitted silhouette and made from a blend of cashmere and silk with a touch of shine.
This cardigan is a fine ribbed knit from a blend of cashmere and silk. It’s slightly fitted and lighter in weight. It’s the perfect layering piece for in-between seasons.
A few transitional jackets that caught my eye.
I saw this Doen dupe blouse available in both white and black, but I must have missed the olive color option.
A great office-appropriate blouse.
I didn’t realize the belt comes in olive. Also linked both brown versions.
Thanks for visiting.
