Roundup from the Week

Roundup from the Week

I have been anxiously awaiting Jenna Lyon's next project after leaving J Crew.  I hoped it would be a clothing line or a collaboration, but I'll take what I can get. She has emerged from a brief time away from the spotlight with her first styling job for Glamour magazine that featuresinspirational women in her squad.  See the feature here

I haven't shopped at the GAP in ages, but I took a look online today and found some really cute pieces.   The dresses could be work to work or on the weekends, the bell sleeve top would look cute with skinny jeans in white, black or blue and could work for early fall with a jacket. I would make sure you wear slim pants bc the top is voluminous.  Camo is a neutral in my book and would look cute over the tie-back jumpsuit or jeans and a graphic tee. The jumpsuit would look great with flats, sneakers and heels and I love the cut of the top.

Here a few of my favorites:

Bell sleeve tier dress

Flutter tier midi dress

lace bell sleeve top

Camo bomber jacket

Softspun tie-back jumpsuit

I'm always interested in people's favorite Instragram accounts and why they follow them  I was happy to find that the Everygirl team had recently featured the accounts they love and why. You can find their picks here

I spotted the yellow satin Ann Taylor shoes on Damselindior.com (see photo of Jacey wearing them below) and I wanted a closer look, so off I went to Anntaylor.com. They are called the "Whitney" and come in "Blue Plume" too.  They are only available online. I love a good statement shoe that can perk up a plain dress or a monochromatic pants and top outfit.  They have a 3 1/4 inch heel, which is a heel height I can tolerate for several hours.  While I was browsing I spotted the "Nika" in blush (Paloma) and black.  There's something about the way the 2 1/2 inch block heel and portion around the toes are shaped that I love. Based on the heel height, I could wear these from day to night.  I've found that Ann Taylor shoes are true to size, comfortable and well-made, so if you're in the market for versatile heels that you can wear all day or statement makers for a night out or an occasion, you may want to check them out.
