This week's fab finds - J Crew sale edition
I have to admit that I’m having motivation issues with everything going on in the world. I live in NYC, so knowing it’s a hot spot is very nerve wracking. I’m sleeping, eating, shopping and crying too much. I get dressed and put on makeup everyday and it makes me feel better, so I thought if I did this post, I may feel better and happy that I accomplished something. So, here it goes. Here are some of the things I bought during J. Crew’s recent sales.
This suit looks great together and as separates. Just add in white jeans and you have a few new outfits. The pants and jacket are a slim fit, so I sized up in the pants, which I love. The suit is made of a thick cotton that resembles a heavy linen, so it’s going to wrinkle but that’s the best part of linen or a linen like fabric. Most people know that linen wrinkles, so you can get away with it. The jacket nips in the waist, so the bottom of the blazer doesn’t lay straight and It kicks out a bit. I think it looks better buttoned, which is rare for me. I like to wear blazers open and I like a straight cut, so I was contemplating returning it but it grew on me and decided to keep it.
I try to buy solids so that I don’t get tired of the print and, for me, they are typically more versatile. However, I’m a print lover, and I just loved the colors in this popover. This print also comes in a dress, but I thought it was too much print for me. I also like how the popover gives me the opportunity to pair it with different colored pants, blazers and cardigans. I also love that all the colors also give me the option of pairing with so many items and shoes. I always size down in popovers.
I have this dress in white and it fit like a dream on my curvy shape. I bought the pink and was surprised I didn’t like it at all. Has that ever happened to you? I guess what wasn’t visible in the white was seen in pink. The sleeves had too much fabric and the waist was too high. I guess it demonstrates how different colors of the same dress can look very different, and because they are different colors, they may be cut a bit differently.
I gasped when I saw this dress and had to have it. It’s also available in black and white and in a blouse. I went with this blue because you can really see the details. I can’t wait for this to arrive.
I saw this fun cashmere sweater on Blair of Atlantic Pacific and fell in love. She paired it with khaki pants and flip flops. It’s a bold print, so I would do the same and keep it simple with everything else I’m wearing.
This skirt is on the way as well. As the weather gets warmer, I gravitate towards traditional preppy clothes. This skirt was a perfect blend of the traditional preppy plaid with a fun twist of subtle shimmer. I also love that I can pair it with many different colored tees and lightweight cashmere.
Not shiny, too constricting or see-through, these leggings are so comfortable. Not sure if I could have gone with an xs but the small looks good. Not the typical pooling at the ankle and it’s a high rise, so no worries about bending over and showing anything or the need to pull them up.
Hope you and your families are well. Thanks for visiting!
