The Sunday seven
I bought these sets on super sale because they remind me of J Crew the Jenna years, they are extremely comfortable, and I can split them up or wear them together. If not worn as a set, which is especially great for a night out with a pair of heels, I especially love the pants with a solid button down (knotted at the waist is really cute), a sweatshirt or a crewneck sweater. I prefer wearing one of these sets to sweats any day.
This linen top looks like nothing on the hanger but it’s so adorable once you try it on. It’s available in several colors (I liked the blue also). I also love that if you wear a jacket, you can still see the pretty collar. The skirt was a surprise love. It’s available in a peach color and white with polka dots. It is a bit sheer but it’s too cute not to throw on a slip. One of my friends paired this set together and, she was right, it’s really cute. The skirt looks just as cute with the white tee I wore into the store! I sized down in both and bought an XS.
I am not a fan of jeans on me. On Friday night, I went through all the pairs in my closet and gathered 12 pairs I wanted to donate. On Saturday, I went to Madewell with my huge bag of unwanted denim where they will have a second life as insulation. I tried on a few pairs to see if I could find one that I liked. And, to my surprise, I found the best pair I’ve ever purchased! I bought the classic straight-leg jeans. The fit is close to my Levi’s, which are the only jeans that make my butt look good. These have a high waist, suck you in (they have Madewell’s signature “magic pockets”) but comfortably and have a hint of stretch (1 percent). I was concerned that they felt slightly snug but they were still really comfortable, which the sales associate said is exactly how they should feel because they stretch slightly. I typically like my jeans to be straight-legs, have limited stretch and fit slightly loose as in a slim boyfriend fit for comfort but these truly make my figure look better and are comfortable but suck you in wear you need it. I can’t recommend these enough. If you read the reviews, you’ll see I’m not the only one that likes them!
This Saint James X Jenni Kane tee is a bit of a splurge but I know I would wear this all the time. Stripes never go out of style. I have a Saint James x J Crew collaboration navy blue and white striped drop shoulder tee from years ago that is the exact same cut and I LOVE it so much that I look forward to wearing it every spring and summer.
Living in NYC and walking everywhere and wearing makeup, I feel the need to double cleanse. I like to use this and then use Cetaphil. I am allergic to so many products but this doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t sting my eyes, doesn’t dry me out and it’s a clean beauty brand.
Two bargains that are in my cart.
With all the white and sheer dresses that you may be eyeing, you’ll need a slip. I’m getting this one.
Thanks for visiting!
