The first of fall

The first of fall

I was a huge fan of 2009 documentary The September Issue, which was the first time I had seen and heard Grace Coddington. While I knew she was the Creative Director of Vogue for years and a cat lover like myself, the documentary was the first time I got a taste of her personality. If you recall in the documentary, she went head-to-head with Anna Wintour, which is unimaginable in my mind. Anna seems like she is a force not to be reckoned with. For this reason and because she’s a bit mysterious as a notoriously shy behind the scenes type person, everyone I knew wanted to read her memoir, Grace: A Memoir to find out more about her. If you were still not satisfied after reading her life story (and her other books), you’ll be excited for her new talk show, Face to Grace, a fashion docuseries she’s made for M2M.tv available on Apple TV, Amazon, Roku (I have a Roku TV and no idea how to get this. Send help), iOS, web, and Android TV beginning on September 26. Some of the folks she will be eating, drinking and talking with include actor Ansel Elgort, director Sofia Coppola, and artistic director of Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquiere to name a few. #Excited

Not for the tame, these colorful cowboy boots are statement making boots. If you buy them, go with basic solids with the rest of your outfit, which actually makes getting dressed a breeze. You can pair them with black, grey, copper and cream crew necks, v necks, button downs and sweatshirts.

I’m a huge fan of this rust/copper color and I like that this ruffle sweater is more than a simple crew neck, which I love also, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you need a detail that has some visual interest and bit of femininity. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s 25 percent off.

I’m Lizzie Fortunato lover. The brand has that cool girl vibe. They make the kind of pieces where people will stop you and ask you where you bought it. Two of my current favorites are the Venice Heart necklace and the Fortune necklace. The Venice Heart comes in pink (shown) and green. The Fortune necklace comes in 8 different variations, some with charms and some without. The version pictured is pink. You can find them all here. As the weather gets cooler, many people start to wear less prints ad opt for more basics as in a cashmere sweater, jeans and boots. I think accessories are more important than ever in the cooler months. You need something to liven things up a bit and make the 25th time you’ve worn the same thing a bit different with a scarf, necklace, belt, etc… I would wear these with a white tee and a chunky cardigan. Besides jewelry, they have a fabulous blog, which you can read here.

I’m a lover of all things striped. Most of the stripes are tees, so I find myself not wearing a ton of stripes as the days get cooler. This sweater solves that issue. I love the ruffle at the wrists. You can find it here.

Two words. Yes, please! I think we all need this sherpa fleece pullover immediately. I wish the navy had contrastinf cuffs like the white version, but I’m messy, so it’s probably better that it does have that feature. Now that I told you that I’m messy, you know what color I would buy.

Don’t you think this pair of cotton cashmere sweatpants would be perfect with the sherpa pullover pictured above? Just like the ruffle details on the striped sweater I introduced earlier, the striped drawstring is a small detail that has a big impact.

This classic leopard coat is a great transitional coat for Autumn. It’s not meant for cold weather, It’s meant to be a chic topper for cooler but not cold temps. Anthropologie is having a 20 percent off this weekend, so hop on it.

I have too many pairs of camo pants, but if I didn’t, I would grab these.

This check blazer is a classic that I think everyone should have in their wardrobe. Even if you’re not working in a corporate environment, this blazer is really versatile. It’s especially good with a graphic tee and jeans.

Thanks for visiting.
