Weekend web shopping
I'm crushing hard on this Ten Over Ten polish trio that is 8-free, cruelty-free and vegan. Maybe I like it because it's named after streets in NYC -- in order Hester, Broome, and Canal.
This cami is so pretty for date night or a night out with the girls.
I'm loving this lace on the collar and the sleeves of this blouse. I had the sleeveless version on my wishlist and it was on my blog last week, but I like this one better.
If you've been paying attention to fashion trends, you may have noticed the popularity of transparent shoes. I think my feet would get sweaty, but I'm digging these because they have a Chanel vibe. I'm passing on this trend, but you want to go for it, these may be for you. They are the most elegant version I've seen.
I bought this dress last week. It's currently at the tailor being shortened, which is the story of my life. I like a dark floral because you can wear it into fall unlike a lot of white or pastel florals.
I think this eyelet tank has a pretty back but I need to wear a supportive bra and I'm not into complicated bras (one shoulder, hidden straps etc), so it's a pass for me.
This maxi is perfect for summer and the print is small for folks that don't like a big print, clearly, a big print obviously doesn't bother me. See floral dress above.
If you've been following me for a bit, you know I'm obsessed with lace/eyelet blouses, so you know why this top is on my list.
I love the colors in this floral blouse.
Another cami I can't wear with a regular bra, but the print is lovely. I'm always drawn to blue and white during the summer.
Elementary school memories are flooding back when I spot stars and rainbow colors, so this tank and this sweater (a good option for cool nights at the beach or powerful air conditioning) have my heart. The multicolors give you the option of pairing them with a lot. Did your teacher put colored stars on your papers like mine? If you don't like color or have horrible memories from your k-6 grade years, you can go for this tank that comes in both black and white. I think the multicolor options work for daytime and the black and white cami works for a night out.
I'm loving this update of a classic jean jacket. It feels modern and more sophisticated than the one you probably have in your closet right now.
Metallic + a platform = obsessed. I love these Tory Burch espadrille flats. Another reason to love them, they don't show the dirt and grime of NYC.
I like the color combination and the sleeve detail on this dress. I also love dresses that have this type of bottom. It reminds me of a dress I had as a child. I'm getting very nostalgic with this post - see stars blurb above.
Aren't these unusual but fabulous? They are delicate and probably not for everyday wear.
For a more casual and less delicate option, I suggest these pool slides that come in stripes (my favorite) as seen below, blush or black. The footbed looks like a Birkenstock , so you know these will likely become you daily summer shoe. You may have to size up to account for the knot, which is what I have found with some of their knotted heels, but the website says they run true to size.
There are only a size m and xl left in this dress. I can see why. It's adorable no? If Shopbop doesn't have my size, I stalk their site to see if it's restocked if it's exclusive to Shopbop, I go to the source and try to find it on the brand's website or I look for it at other stores.
Speaking of trying to find a sold out item, I recently found a pair of Golden Goose sneakers (you can see them here, below and on my Instagram) on sale on Saks.com during Memorial Day. They were out of my size, but I remembered that Revolve.com carries Golden Goose and they price match. So, I now own a pair of Golden Goose sneakers that were $515 on Revolve's site that I got for $275. Revolve has excellent customer service. In addition to price matching, they hold things for you while you're thinking about purchasing them, which is rare and amazing.
June 11 is the one year anniversary of this blog. I started it because I needed to feel creative and I would get bummed out on Sundays. There have been many days I've thought about stopping because my blog wasn't as good as other blogs. I know I don't post daily and I don't have the funds to hire someone to make it look like some of the other bloggers that blog full time. I need to remind myself that it's okay because I'm doing this for me and for my own reasons. I can only do what I can handle. My blog helps to distract me from negative thoughts, I feel creative, productive, and I like the sense of achievement. The best part is a really nice comment from a reader (shout out to Nicola) every once in a while that says they bought something I bought, loved and recommended and they love it too.
Thanks for reading!
